ASEAN Training on Weather Modification 2019
From July 22-26, 2019, the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation (DRRAA) hosted the ASEAN Training on Weather Modification at the Amari Hua Hin Hotel and Hua Hin Royal Rainmaking Operation Center in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The event, inaugurated by Mr. Meesak Pakdeekong, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, aimed to enhance weather modification knowledge among officials from eight countries, including Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Mongolia, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. The training focused on transferring Royal Rainmaking technology developed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, with support from the Agricultural Research Development Agency and the World Meteorological Organization. Lectures from experts and researchers were intended to improve rainmaking efficiency and foster regional collaboration to address drought and climate change challenges.
